How to apply for a US passport for the first time after becoming a naturalized US citizen

If you would like to apply for a U.S. passport, you can make an in-person appointment at a passport acceptance facility (see link below for locations). You should bring the following to your appointment:
  • Completed but unsigned Form DS-11 – available at: eforms.state.gov/Forms/ds11.pdf
  • 2″ x 2″ passport photo (some of the locations offer photo services – see link below)
  • U.S. naturalization certificate – original and black & white photocopy
  • Valid government-issued photo ID (driver license, foreign passport, etc.) – original and black & white photocopy
  • Application fees: $110 application fee; $35 execution fee; $60 optional expedited service fee (please inquire with the acceptance facility about the accepted payment methods)
