Request for Evidence (“RFE”) – USCIS sometimes requests additional documents

“Combo Card” – Employment Authorization Document with Advance Parole notation

Medical Examination and Vaccinations

You can schedule the exam at any time while the case is pending. Bring exam report (Form I-693) in sealed envelope to your interview. To search for USCIS-approved doctors (“Civil Surgeons”), go to: my.uscis.gov/findadoctor

Interview with USCIS (both spouses to attend)

Decision (Approved/Denied)

If case is approved, green card will be mailed out in 1-2 weeks. Decision can be delayed for several reasons, including: delays in security background screenings, requests for additional evidence, findings of inadmissibility requiring waiver requests, complex issues requiring supervisor file review, etc.
